Many thanks for devoting a few moments to peruse the collection. All of my designs are hand-crafted in my tiny, cozy, book-filled studio.
Always having an affinity for creating, this tendency was encouraged by my seamstress mother, who set the example by constantly finding time to sew for her ten children. Her “TO DO” list included matching dresses for every occasion (my job was often to craft matching hair scrunchies for everyone.)
Young observant eyes watched for scraps and cast-off fabric (I was dying to try out the old Singer’s powers) and it wasn’t long before the resident Cabbage Patch and Barbie models were coerced into sporting my latest fashions. (And five sisters learned to patiently praise good attempts.)
Practice won results and soon my mother allowed me to sew a few of the matching dresses. In a few years I progressed to exchanging my babysitting earnings for fabrics, and re-creating catalog knock-offs for my teenage sisters. The highlight of highschool involved some blessed person who first paid me to sew. (No recollection of the project. Best moment of my life.)
